VW Beetle Elopement

Being a photographer and vintage motorcycle owner, a VW Beetle elopement ticks all the boxes for me. Mick and Matt showing us how to make a wedding day completely unique and a reflection of the two of you.

Well, one thing we know is that 2020 threw as many curveballs as possible at engaged couples and wedding industry suppliers. Micro weddings became a thing (I think the term was even newly created?). And more couples were deciding to elope towards the end of the year. 2021 seems to be carrying on with this trend and I’m absolutely all for it!

Elopement

What is an elopement? It certainly isn’t running off to Gretna Green anymore like people of a slightly older generation may think! It’s about creating a day that’s right for you. Whether that means just the two of you or if you’d like a handful of your nearest and dearest there too. The Spruce have a fab article that explains the ins and outs of eloping so you can check that out here.

Mick + Matt

Let’s just chat about these two. Both such lovely and incredible souls who had never taken part in a shoot before. With the aim to practise being in front of the camera for their own wedding. Would you know they’ve never done it before?! Absolute naturals!

This VW Beetle elopement inspiration was organised and styled by the lovely Rebecca of Rebecca Marie Weddings. She really is a styling QUEEN. A whole list of other wonderful suppliers made this happen too so I’ve put all the deets at the bottom of the page. A big shoutout too to Izzy from Wizz and Wild who created the stunning florals and the Boho Bug for the cutest car!
