Countryside Farm Wedding

Being from the Cornwall, I of course love the countryside so Katie and Freddie’s beautiful August farm wedding was right up my street.

It’s actually quite difficult to know where to start with this one because I absolutely loved everything. I was introduced to Katie through her wonderful mum, Mel, who I used to teach with abroad. Katie is one of the kindest people I have come across and this just radiated throughout the whole day.

The Day

During lockdown in 2020 before wedding plans, Freddie had designed and built a house for them in the Kent countryside. It is stunning. We had lots of natural light for bridal prep which is a photographer’s dream! Katie wore a beautiful vintage wedding gown made by Jane Bourvis and a beautiful pair of blue velvet Prada’s. Her locally sourced beautiful flowers were created by Jess at One Flew Over. She had the most wonderful friends as her bridesmaids helping her to get ready, including her hair and make-up and it was such a chilled and relaxed morning.

Although we had a rainy morning, the skies cleared and we headed to the wonderful Thomas a becket church on its own island in Old Romney, Kent. The wind had us all laughing and added to the fantastic atmosphere of the day.

Following this, we travelled the short distance to Freddie’s parents’ farm for all the countryside wedding reception fun. Plan A was a tipi that blew away the day before.. but the whole farming community came together to make sure Katie and Freddie had their day. The whole farm and reception barn had crates with F + K painted everywhere, apparently the name of the potato sellers but everyone thought they’d been made for Freddie and Katie! It was perfect.
